Futures Day Inspires VIS Grade 11 & 12 Students

VIS offers DP students a glimpse into University Life

Futures Day at Vienna International School (VIS) provided 275 students from Grades 11 and 12 with an exciting opportunity to explore what lies ahead in their academic journeys. The event, which hosted 15 visiting universities, featured 'taster' lectures, presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities, giving students a real insight into university life.

The university fair allowed students and their families to engage directly with representatives from various institutions, ask questions about different programmes, gather valuable information, and learn more about campus life. Special thanks go to VIS’s own Dzenana Ceman, who led a CommonApp workshop for 45 students aspiring to study in the United States.

Adding to the richness of the day, three recently graduated VIS students, Laughlin, Lucy, and Dana, returned to share their experiences of 'surviving the IB' and navigating the university application process. Their insights were invaluable and provided current students with a practical perspective on what to expect.

Vienna International School recognizes that applying to universities or colleges is a major milestone in a student’s life, marking the culmination of 12 years of education. The process requires careful planning and thoughtful discussions between students, parents, teachers, and counsellors. In support of this critical step, VIS has established a comprehensive counselling programme to guide students and their families throughout their university selection and application journey.
