Vienna International School (VIS) is excited to announce the launch of our annual Recycling Campaign, as part of our participation in the Eco Schools Global Action Days in April. This initiative, spearheaded by the Primary and Secondary School Green Teams, invites the VIS community to come together towards reducing waste, promoting recycling, and encouraging sustainable habits both in and outside the classroom.
Every Spring, the Green Teams work diligently to tackle environmental challenges, with a focus on waste reduction and responsible recycling. This year, the campaign is particularly important as it aligns with the global push for more sustainable practices during the Eco Schools Global Action Days.
Since January, the Grade 4 and 5 Green Teams have been leading the charge in monitoring recycling efforts in classrooms across the school. Their work includes ensuring that recycling bins are used properly, guiding classmates in reducing food waste, and encouraging the reduction of unnecessary paper and other educational resources. In addition to waste reduction within classrooms, the campaign extends to all areas of the school grounds. Students and staff are encouraged to be mindful of their energy and water usage, striving to minimize waste in every aspect of school life. The Green Teams will continue their efforts throughout the year, actively monitoring recycling stations, and offering creative activities that will engage the whole school community in making a lasting environmental impact.
The VIS Recycling Campaign is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to take collective action toward protecting our planet. We invite everyone in the VIS community to support our Eco efforts and join in the continued recycling and waste reduction activities. By making small changes in our daily habits, we can work together to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.
