VIS Students Volunteer at Wings for Life Charity Run

Wings for Life Supports Spinal Cord Research

On a bright Sunday in Vienna, 32 dedicated Grade 10 and 11 students from Vienna International School (VIS) volunteered their time and effort at the Wings for Life charity run. This event, part of their Service & Action (S&A) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) contributions to the community, saw our students joining more than 60,000 participants in Austria to support a very noble cause (please click here for more details about Wings of Life.).

Our students were instrumental in setting up the drink station near the iconic Opera House, preparing to serve the 13,500 runners participating in Vienna. As the runners flowed through quickly, the students tirelessly supported the athletes, ensuring they stayed hydrated and motivated during the race. Their hard work and enthusiasm contributed to the success of this massive event, which is part of the largest running event worldwide, with over 250,000 participants globally.

‘Wings for Life’ is a non-profit spinal cord research foundation dedicated to finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. This charity run raises awareness and funds to support groundbreaking research in this vital field.

Congratulations to all the students involved in this meaningful event, exemplifying the school's commitment to community service and social responsibility. Your involvement in the Wings for Life charity run is a shining example of how we can all contribute to making the world a better place. We look forward to seeing more of our students engage in such inspiring activities, continuing to make a difference in our community and beyond. Well done, everyone!
