During the week of 16 September, our VIS Primary students were treated to a high-energy and inspiring concert by the school band from Wesley College, a secondary school in Melbourne, Australia, as part of their European tour. The Wesley College band, known for its exceptional talent and performances, brought a dynamic blend of energy and artistry that captivated the audience and left a lasting impression on the VIS community. This special performance became even more memorable with the participation of our talented Primary choir, adding a unique and harmonious VIS touch to the event.
At VIS, we believe that music plays a vital role in nurturing the development of the whole child. Beyond its ability to spark joy, music fosters a lifelong passion for learning and appreciation of its many forms. It engages the mind, body, and spirit, providing a universal language that transcends borders and unites cultures. By learning music, students not only discover an avenue for self-expression but also gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the diverse world around them.
Each student in school is encouraged to reach their musical potential, making events like this collaboration with Wesley College a true celebration of creativity, connection, and the universal power of music. Students in all grades are encouraged to develop their own individual skills and interests in music as well as expand their broad base of expertise and musical knowledge. We offer various additional programmes for students that are further interested: Middle School Choir, High School Choir, Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced Band, Jazz Band as well as the String Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble and VISMA Instrumental Programme.
