Full-time employment, 38,5 hrs./week

  • 30 days annual leave + 4 additional all-staff school holidays

Join our Support Staff Team as:

Individual (1:1) Learning Assistant (ILA) in Primary School

The Vienna International School is looking to recruit the following positions as soon as possible:

  • Part-time employment (approx. 60%)
  • Fixed-term until the last day of school 2024/25 (parent-funded)
  • ESS working conditions - depending on complete years of relevant training and experience: gross monthly salary full-time between € 2.694,39 and € 3.635,06
  • Expected starting date: 2 May 2025

Competencies & Experience:

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs
  • Have knowledge of the implementation of behavioral interventions and behavior modification plans for students with diverse needs
  • Have knowledge of emotional regulation and sensory processing strategies of students with diverse needs
  • Be able to implement proactive and preventative approaches to support students
  • Have the ability to communicate in calm and consistent manner
  • Prior experience working successfully with students or children
  • Experience working with students identified learning needs an asset
  • Qualifications in special education desirable
  • Fluency in English
  • The proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in teams
  • The perseverance required to maintain high standards
  • Can draw upon a wide range of appropriate strategies to meet a student’s diverse learning, social, and behavioral needs
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and leadership staff

VIS is seeking to hire employees for the summer to assist several administrative departments, as follows:

Job Requirements:

  • Availability - minimum one month:
    • IT: July, August 2025
    • Reprographics: mid of August until mid of September 2025
    • Facilities: July, August, September 2025
  • EU Citizenship or residence permit / Legitimation card with labour market access
  • Maturity, flexibility, and comfort working as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, with a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity and dedication to the mission of the VIS.

​​​Working time: These are temporary full-time positions, Monday-Friday, 38,5 hours per week.

Compensation: between € 2,038.00 and € 2,138.00 gross per month, depending on previous work experience. Proportional Christmas and holiday payments are paid in addition.

Vienna International School is always looking for talented individuals who are:

  • interested in supporting and/or supervising students during assessments and exams.

We are looking for people who are interested in at least one of the following roles:

  • Substitute Teachers (teaching qualification required!)
  • Substitutes for Educational Support Staff
  • Invigilators
  • Readers and Scribes

Our Substitutes and Occasional Workers are called in as needed and are paid on a per hour or per lesson basis. There is no obligation to accept the work offered and no obligation by VIS to offer work.
